Abstract:

The toxicity of topical applications of 23 insecticides to females of Tabanus subsimilis Bellardi and of 13 insecticides to females of T. sulcifrons Macq. and T. proximus Wlk. was determined in laboratory tests in Texas. The most effective insecticides were chlorpyrifos, chlorfenvinphos (Compound 4072), dichlorvos, FMC 33297 [3-(phenoxyphenyl)methyl 3-(2,2-dichloroethenyl)-2,2-dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylate], propoxur and pyrethrins.
