| Abstract: | Three Malaise traps baited with carbon dioxide released at 2 litres/min were used to study the seasonal distribution and variation in diurnal activity of Tabanids in a woodland in Zambia. Twelve-species were collected. Seasonal flight activity coincided with the warm rainy season (about November-April). Peak diurnal activity was recorded during the period 09.00-15.00 h. Nocturnal activity was noted in all except two species. |
