| Abstract: | As a result of a study of the biology and taxonomy of immature Tabanids in Arizona in 1968-70, two previously undescribed species of Tabanus were reared, and these are described from adults of both sexes as T. caenosus sp. n. and T. mogollon sp. n. Their distribution in the south-western United States and northern Mexico and notes on larval habitats are given. The hitherto unknown male of T. boharti Philip is also described. These species all belong to the group of T. gilanus Tns. Keys for separating the adults of both sexes of some species of the group in the south-western United States are included. |
