Abstract:

New distributional records are given for Haematopota rara Johnson (found in Ohio and Nova Scotia), H. punctulata Macq. (Liberty County, Florida), Chrysops hyalinus Shann. (North Carolina and Franklin County, Florida), C. zinzalus Philip (Maine, New Hampshire and Nova Scotia), C. abatus Philip, (Franklin and Jackson Counties, Florida) and Microtabanus pygmaeus (Will.) (Santa Rosa, Baker and Putnam Counties, Florida). The male of C. zinzalus is described, and notes on the habitats of other species are given.
