| Abstract: | The inhabitants of the Omo valley in the extreme south-west of Ethiopia have to pasture their cattle and goats at a distance of some 40 km on account of the presence of Glossina infesting the fringe forest of the Omo. From surveys in July-September in 1968, 1969 and 1971 G. fuscipes fuscipes Newst., G. pallidipes Aust. and G. longipennis Corti are recorded from the lower Omo [cf. RAE/B 60, 1573], together with five species of Tabanids, among which much the most abundant was Atylotus agrestis (Wied.). |
