Seasonal abundance of Tabanidae in Southern Darfur District, Sudan

Abstract:

The seasonal abundance of adults of Tabanus taeniola P. de B., Atylotus agrestis (Wied.), A. fuscipes (Ric.), Tabanus biguttatus Wied., Ancala latipes (Macq.), Philoliche magrettii (Bez.) and T. gratus Lw. was observed in Southern Darfur District of the Sudan [cf. preceding abstract] in 1966-68. T. taeniola was found to be common throughout the year. Adults of the remaining species were generally found only during the wet season.
