| Abstract: | Collections in the Pocomoke River swamps in Worcester County, Maryland, in 1968 and 1969 yielded 13 084 examples of Tabanids representing 40 species in 4 genera; there were 18 of Chrysops, 19 of Tabanus, 2 of Hybomitra and 1 of Diachlorus. Catches with a modified Manitoba trap, hand nets and a vehicle were made routinely at 3 sites every 2-4 days. C. vittatus Wied., T. lineola F., T. petiolatus Hine and C. flavidus Wied., were among the most abundant species. |
