| Abstract: | The topography, climate and vegetation of Cameroon are described, and a list, with taxonomic notes in some cases, is given of the 87 species of Tabanids known from the country with special reference to Chrysops dimidiatus Wulp including the Bombe form [cf. RAE/B 51, p. 250, etc.]. The species include 13 additions to those already known in the literature. The distribution of the Tabanid fauna of Cameroon in relation to vegetation zones and seasons and the relations of this fauna with that of the rest of the Ethiopian Region are discussed. |
