| Abstract: | Factors which affect the distribution and habits of H. pluvialis were investigated in the Champagne region of France during 1990. An overview of the role of this species in the transmission of viruses to farm animals is given. Observations of horsefly behaviour including feeding are discussed and suggestions for methods of control are given. |
