| Abstract: | Tabanid flies were collected from the provinces of Ankara, Cankiri, Konya, Sivas, Nigde, Kayseri, Nevsehir, Kirsehir and Yozgat in Central Anatolia between 1984 and 1986. A total of 10 species were identified from 582 Haematopota specimens. The specimens were identified as H. pallens (Loew), H. kemali (Meigen), H. crassicornis (Wahlberg), H. latebricola (Austen), H. sewelli (Austen), H. hennauxi (Leclercq), H. pluvialis (Linne), H. bigoti (Gobert), H. pavlovskii (Gauzer) and H. italica (Meigen). Among these H. pavlovskii, H. latebricola, H. sewelli and H. bigoti were reported for the first time in the Central Anatolia. The most important morphological differences of the species are described in an identification key. The distribution areas of the species, their hosts and their distinctive features are also given. |
