| Abstract: | Ten species of the family Tabanidae were recorded in 2007 from Slavyanka Mts., SW Bulgaria. Seven of them are registered for the first, time for the fauna of this mountain: Chrysops caecutiens, Atylotus loewianus, Tabanus bromius, T. paradoxus, T. exclusus, T. shannonellus and Haematopota scutellata. One species, Tabanus paradoxus, is recorded for the first time in Bulgaria. The total number of tabanid species reported from Slavyanka Mts. is currently 13. |
