| Abstract: | In Burkina Faso, the efficiency of 3 different types of traps baited or not with a mixture of odour attractants (meta-cresol/octenol) against tabanids was compared with 2 experiments during the dry season. Catches increased 1.5-3X when the traps were baited with odour attractants. The NG-2G trap and the screen-trap gave comparable results and were significantly more attractive than the F3 trap. The advancing dry season did not alter these findings. It was also noted, however, that there were probable trapping-effects. |
