Abstract:

The examination of a collection of Tabanidae made in 1972 in the Dungo region of Angola revealed a new species, Tabanus rosarioi sp. nov., belonging to the ruficrus group. Both sexes are described. An identification key for females of the tropical African species of the ruficrus group, and a complete list of the 108 species of Tabanidae currently known from Angola are presented.
