| Abstract: | Original data establishes the existence of 15 tabanid species from 7 genera: Chrysops (1 species), Atylotus (1 species), Therioplectes (1 species), Hybomitra (1 species), Tabanus (9 species), Haematopota (1 species) and Dasyrhamphis (1 species). It is the first time they are reported for the territory of the Saint Ilijski Eminences. The registered species represent 20% of the reported until now 75 species of tabanids, present in the Bulgarian fauna. Information, regarding the localities, the number and sex of the captured specimens, as well as the dates of the catches is presented. From a zoogeographical point of view, it has been determined that the predominant elements are the ones, pertaining to the Mediterranean sub-regional tabanid fauna (60% of the reported for the Saint Ilijski Eminences species). |
