Abstract:

The Author describes the results of the studies he made on an important collection of horse-flies, belonging to the State Museum, from Windhoek (Namibia), most of them having been collected in this territory. Besides part of this material had already been described in three other papers, the global reference of all of that is here made, comprising a total of 211 specimens, distributed by 4 subfamilies, 11 genera (two of them being considered as new) and 31 species, from which 12 were reported as new for the science, whereas one other (a male of Tabanus) was not specifically identified. [The following are discused; Atylotus juditeae sp. nov., Heamatopota dolondoloensis sp. nov., H. tchigh vinculumguiroensis sp. nov., Philoliche penrithorum sp. nov., P. dubiosa sp. nov., P. pamelae sp. nov., P. coetzeei sp. nov., P. irishi sp. nov., P. chaineyi sp. nov.].
