| Abstract: | Both sexes of H. agora sp. nov. are described from specimens collected in Alberta, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, South Dakota, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico, and differentiated from similar species (H. atrobasis and H. rupestris) in western North America. Notes are given on the known habitat of H. agora and on differences in mating behaviour between this and 3 other sympatric species of Hybomitra (H. osburni, H. tetrica and H. rupestris). The known distribution of H. agora is summarised with a map. |
