Range extensions, new state records and annotated checklist for Oklahoma Tabanidae (Diptera)

A checklist of 64 tabanid species (some of economic importance) that occur in Oklahoma is given, with a description of the geographic range and collection dates for each species and including 9 new state records. Range extensions of over 150 km are given for 16 species, and previously undefined distribution ranges within Oklahoma are described for 8 further species already recorded from that state. A separate list is given of 10 species previously cited as found in Oklahoma but excluded from the present main list for lack of conclusive documentation.
