Abstract:

Haematopota quartaui sp. nov. is described from a collection of horseflies made in Portugal. Other species identified were Tabanus eggeri, T. exclusus, H. italica and H. pluvialis. A key to females of the 11 species of Haematopota present in Portugal is given.
