| Abstract: | Recent studies have shown that Tabanus nigrovittatus consists of a complex of at least 2 distinct species. Stepwise discriminant analysis of 4 morphological characters of type specimens of T. simulans and T. conterminus showed that T. conterminus was the 2nd species in the complex in north-eastern salt marshes in North America. T. simulans is conspecific with T. nigrovittatus. |
