| Abstract: | Adult tabanids were collected in emergence and Malaise traps in 4 kinds of habitats from the centre to the periphery of a peat bog at the forest limit near the Hudson Bay, Quebec, in June-August 1983. From these, the spatial distribution in the bog of 13 species of Hybomitra, Chrysops and Atylotus, and the seasonal distribution of 4 species of Hybomitra, are described. Evidence was found that emergence traps could not provide sufficient numbers of flies for statistical studies in the difficult conditions for field studies there. |
