| Abstract: | The subgenus Pseudoscione of the genus Scaptia in South America is reviewed and a key to females given. Of the 16 species listed, 2 are new to science, 4 are raised from synonymy and 2 are stated to be junior synonyms of other species. Distribution maps are given for all species, and the external structures and genitalia of some are illustrated. The species include S. atra (Philippi) and S. dorsoguttata (Macq.). |
