Abstract:

A cattle-baited trap for collecting haematophagous Diptera is described from Canada. Ten species of tabanids, 6 culicids and at least 7 species of simuliids and 3 of ceratopogonids were collected with the trap in Newfoundland in May-August 1982; at least 18 species had fed on blood.
