| Abstract: | The construction and use are described of a trap baited with cattle that was developed in Alberta for sampling the feeding populations of blood-sucking Diptera in the field. Data are presented on collections of 4 species of Simulium, 5 of Aedes, 1 of Culiseta, 2 of Culicoides, 4 of Chrysops, 1 of Haematopota and 6 of Hybomitra that were among the simuliids, mosquitoes, ceratopogonids and tabanids taken with the trap in a survey in Alberta in June-August 1975. Distinctions are made between the species and numbers of adults that were blood-fed and those that were not. |
