Abstract:

Five new species of Tabanus and 2 of Hybomitra are described from Mexico, and a key is provided to the 5 species of Hybomitra now recognised there. Notes on the species include a report that T. arnaudi sp.n. attacked man and contained blood-meals, probably of cattle. Notes are provided on 2 known species of Tabanus from Mexico and Guatemala, one of Hybomitra from Mexico, and some tabanids associated with mangrove thickets, especially in Mexico.
